Reflective Essay 2
It’s an honor to take part in this project. In the first class, the professor told us that we are required to write several essays along with creating our own website in the semester. To be honest, it was a great challenge for me since I didn’t have this kind of experience before. Under some circumstances, it is difficult for a layman to write a well-organized essay, let alone creating an e-portfolio by himself. However, after two semesters of training, I can make good use of this tool and create an eye-pleasing website which I never imagined that I could done before.
Through the process of creating Wix e-portfolio, indeed I have improved my abilities in all aspects. For instance, to make the interface prettier and clearer, I surf the internet and watch some videos on Youtube. By doing this, I have improved the ability to seek information in the long run. Additionally, conducting a self-assessment and peer-assessment is helpful in my opinion. Some classmates doing very well on his/her website. Sometimes I have a blind spot that I may not be aware of in the creating process, but my classmate can point out the problem immediately and share their opinion via peer-assessment. Overall, instead of simply uploading my assignments on ecourse2, Wix e-portfolio is beneficial to my writing skills.
The process is not smooth as you may think. In fact, I encountered some challenges. First, how to design a user-friendly layout irritates me a lot. Creating a website is not only for myself but also for other people. I am responsible to make the website easy to read and eye-pleasing. The color, size of the font is another great challenge. Different themes fit different styles of font. To deal with this problem, I seek help from classmates and finally overcome it successfully. Although there were many challenges in the creating process, I have learned so many lessons and eventually find solutions to the problem!
If you asked me that whether I will continue to use or write posts on this Wix e-portfolio in the future, my answer is yes. This website is comprised of all my efforts and passion, I am able to record slices of life and reflect what I’ve experienced in the sophomore years. In addition, in the near future, I can show my work when I apply for a job via Wix e-portfolio, which might be different from other applicants and thus stand out from others.
